But won't the cost of such luxury apartments reduce, especially if one chose to buy them without the embellishments, deciding to furnish the interiors personally? And the client refuses the alluring extras like split ACs, Jaguar furnishings, Pergo flooring and Italian lighting.
Anyway developers benefit as they buy material and manpower in bulk. Most developers agree that apartments then would be cheaper, but it is disputable whether the economies would be minimal or considerable.
There is a big misconception about luxury apartments. The apartments can boast of quality with the best possible luxury extras, but they are still affordable. In fact, 3,000-4,000 sq ft apartments are available for about $100 per sq ft.
So does the price tag of an apartment determine it as a luxury? Is it used as a marketing tool by developers? The exclusivity of a luxury apartment or a penthouse lifts the individual ego as a class apart segment.
Sometimes buyers wrapped up in the luxury notion suffer by paying extra. Sometimes any apartment priced at around $120 per sq ft is put into the luxury bracket today, though other developers cater the same facilities for a lower-priced apartment.
