Fisherman Island attracts an unusual variety of birds. Many families of seals live on two smaller islands.
There is Boothbay nearby, the largest boating harbor north of Boston. The area takes its pride in a magnificent shoreline that wanders over protected sand beaches, secluded coves, rocky headlands, and crashing surf.
The island is located in 59 miles north of Portland, Maine.
Head for the island in the summertime, as it is probably the best time to take full advantage of Maine’s “100 harbors,“ ports, beaches, and the mountains and forests inland, though in autumn the state's quaint villages obtain a sepia tone.
First fly to Boston or Portland, Maine. Move to Boothbay Harbour, where the Skipper will await you. It will take only 15 minutes to get to Fisherman Island by boat.
